Untethered
I'm writing this from an Amtrak train between Philadelphia and New York. I'm connected through my new Treo 700p, over the Verizon Wireless EVDO network (plus a wireless Bluetooth connection from the device to my PowerBook). According to the software, I'm getting 155kbps peak speed, which ain't bad in a train going 70mph!
Getting this set up was more trouble than it should be, because all Verizon Wireless customer service reps are unaware of the necessary service option to enable it. (And you can't sign up for it on their website.) Finally, after 3 support calls, I got it established. And then I had to deal with some Bluetooth funkiness, probably due to my lemon Powerbook. But the good news is that it works!
OK, back to World of Warcraft....
